Do they even do this, if they were birds?
MindReader and I are at a pub quiz. It has been the perfect Sunday replete with roasts, crumbles and reading Glamour magazine under a duvet with MindReader while he watched the football.
“Which bird turns its head upside down to eat?” The Quizmaster’s voice booms.
“Ooh,” I say, puffing up. I lean close to MindReader. “It’s a bat.”
He looks at me for a moment, and leans back in his chair. “Billygean,” he says. “That’s a mammal.”
“Oh.”
I think for a moment. For some reason my brain doesn’t reregister that it’s supposed to be a bird. I raise my hands in the hair in a celebratory gesture. I have got it.
“Giraffe!” I say.

Bats hang upside down but I don’t know if that counts. I managed to guess this before I looked it up and found out the answer. I still think your answers were better though.
yay i guessed the answer too, that is because you are [metaphorically speaking] looking that the captain of the girls quiz team what came second in our work party two months ago. the important point here is, that although we came second, we still beat the boys. oh yes. they thought barbara streissand sang the original version of ‘i will always love you’…

p.s i am now imagining a giraffe eating upside down…they should SO start doing that.
Unfortunately, I have moments like that too. Rather too many of them.
